Due to the planned contests on the 8th of December, the concert is postponed to the 18th of December 2018 at 8pm

Beethoven Sonata op. 2 No. 3
11 Bagatelles op. 119
Schubert 4 Impromptus, op. posth. 142 D. 935

Approximate running time
1st part: 40mn - Intermission: 20mn - 2nd part: 30mn

Sokolov does much more than play other people’s music: he invents it. He therefore transcends the traditional and slightly dated division between slavish interpreters who put the written score first and predatory interpreters who make it their own. Sokolov takes us to another level, where it is impossible to separate the composer from the performer. However, there is nothing to be gained by comparing his interpretation to those of Richter, Rubinstein, Brendel and Pollini, something which we music critics are always too ready to do. He simply inhabits a different realm, a planet without orbit or satellite.
