Bach solo violin
Sonata No. 2 BWV 1003, Partita No. 2 BWV 1004, Sonata No. 3 BWV 1005

One of the most hardworking violinists of his generation. His exacting standards have driven him to take the hard path, fuelled by an innate anxiety and passionate energy which pitch him and his instrument on a tireless quest. He has just recorded a third attempt at Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas. This version is not just an instant miracle of sound, finely crafted but natural, lively and diverse; it is also immediately reveals its poetry and above all the splendour of an architecture which gradually captivates you. For 18 years, his Greiner violin with its exceptional timbre has been performing miracles with Bach, a composer for whom he has become the go-to performer in recent years.
